Letter: Public’s Help Sought for Return of Stolen Vintage Motor

Posted

Hartley Lee “Swede” Blankenship, 88, a native son of Chehalis and Mossyrock, passed away Aug. 2, 2017.

Sometime during his illness, a circa 1930-1940 vintage green Evinrude 2 HP outboard motor belonging to his wife, Barb, was stolen from the family home garage and replaced with a Johnson 3 HP outboard.

I would ask if anyone knows of such an outboard showing up in your area to contact the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office at 509-667-6851. It can also be returned with no questions asked.

This outboard has been Barb’s for many years and had been restored for Swede by her former husband who was a marine mechanic.
