Editor's Pick: Recognizing the Best

Posted

Congratulations to Dawn Lawson, owner of Dawn’s Delectables in Downtown Centralia, for her dominant outing at the Unity Way of Lewis County’s annual Chef’s Night Out event Saturday (see story on page Main 3).

Also, a hat-tip to co-runner-up Darin Harris of Boccata, who has seen so much success at the event over the years.

Chef’s Night Out is without a doubt one of the most successful and entertaining fundraisers of the year, and those who attended were fortunate to experience some of the best offerings of the best chefs in the area.

Speaking of the best, it’s time to vote in The Chronicle’s annual Best of Lewis County competition.

Nominations were submitted for dozens of categories honoring people, places and businesses over the past several weeks.

Now, the polls are open.

Visit http://bestoflc.chronline.com/ and follow the prompts to have your say in this fun and competitive annual competition.

You’re certain to recognize the names of some of the entries, and you’ll be doing your friends and favorite businesses a service by providing them with your online nod of approval.

Local winners will be published in the 2015 Best of Lewis County publication, inserted in The Chronicle on July 23, 2015.

I’m always looking to provide space for both sides of a discussion, but that was made impossible by the online comments so far regarding the new W.F. West logo.

Commenters on our Facebook page were none to happy with the proposal.

Still, there has to be someone out there who likes the flashy, edgy and fresh face of the athletic program. If you’re a fan, shoot me an e-mail at eschwartz@chronline.com.
