Wilma Nadine DeBow

Wilma was born July 23, 1928, at the Brown Place, in Hardesty, Okla., to Roma C. and Hazel B. DeBow. She passed into the Lord’s loving arms Aug. 26, 2017, in Centralia, Wash.

Wilma was seven years old when she moved with her family to Washington. She attended school in Adna and in 1946, she graduated from Adna High School.

She liked school plays and cheerleading. Wilma worked in the Lewis County Assessor’s Office for six years. She moved to Nevada and worked for the Open Pit Gold Mining Co. She then moved to Beaverton, Ore., where she worked for the City of Hillsboro for six years. After returning to Centralia, she joined Cooks Hill Community Church, where she loved volunteering. Her interests included spending time with family, beautiful flowers, reading and helping others.

Wilma married Edward Zumbuhl and they had six children.

She is survived by her children,  Sandra Tunnell (David), Lyons, Ore., Fred Zumbuhl, Sterling, Alaska, Alyce Howard (Daniel), Rathdrum, Idaho, Myra Zumbuhl, Chehalis, Wash., Mariann Zumbuhl, Chehalis, Wash., and Edward Zumbuhl (Sherry), Winlock, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition, Willma is survived by her sister, Rometta Anderson (Joe), Chehalis, Wash.; brother, Ralph DeBow (Joye), Chehalis, Wash; Christle Scheuber (Joe), Chehalis, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roma and Hazel DeBow; sister, Mildred Pope; and brother, Dale DeBow.

A memorial service will be held at Cooks Hill Community Church, Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at 12 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at Claquato Cemetery.
