Wilma “Marie” Amburgy-Lutes

Wilma “Marie” Amburgy-Lutes fell asleep in death April 24, 2018, knowing that in time she would live again. Her loving husband, Ken of 20 years was by her side when she passed. Marie was born to James and Ida Bennett in Morton, Wash., Feb. 17, 1940, She was later in the Morton High School graduating class of 1958.

A special time in her life was when her daughter, Kim was born. They were best friends until Kim died of a brain tumor at the age of 39, leaving a large void in Marie’s life.

She was proud to be the manager of De Margerie Lingerie store in Olympia, Wash. After working as the manager for many years, Marie entered into the family business with her husband, Ken and became the owner/bookkeeper of Ken’s Landscape Materials in Chehalis, Wash.

She enjoyed her life filled with dancing, taking beautiful glamour shots, gardening both indoors and out and also her two dogs, Chipper and Sassy. One of the greatest delights in her life was spending time with her grandchildren. Marie had a love for the ministry and sharing the Bible in different communities, when she was able.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ida Bennett; daughter, Kim Dalthorp; and her brother, Jim Bennett.

Surviving Marie are her adoring husband, Ken Lutes of Chehalis, Wash.; sister, Ellen of Crescent City, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Lindsey and Rachel Dalthorp of Olympia, Wash.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the hospice nurses for Marie’s wonderful treatment and care.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall, 217 Harmon Rd., Chehalis, Wash., Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 2 p.m. Following the memorial service, there will be a luncheon provided by her friends, family and congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Creekside Event Center, 2923 Jackson Hwy, Chehalis, WA 98532.
