Tom Wheeler, 92, passed away peacefully July 16, 2019. He was born May 1, 1927, in Oakville, Wash., to Howard and Ida Wheeler.
Tom married Darlene Macomber Aug. 31, 1957. They were married for nearly 62 years and raised three children at their home in Rochester, Wash.
Tom’s passion was gardening and he was happiest planting seeds and ensuring rows were absolutely straight. He especially liked sharing his beautiful vegetables with friends and family. Tom also enjoyed trout fishing and watching sports on television.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; son, Rod Wheeler; daughters, Lynda (Scott) Holloway and Anne (Mike) Petersen; seven grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at the Grand Mound Cemetery, 6300 183rd Ave. SW, Rochester, WA 98579, with a reception afterwards at the Historic Gate City Schoolhouse.
