Thomas "Tom" Gordon Green

Thomas "Tom" Gordon Green, born Oct. 18, 1952, in West Virginia, passed away Aug. 20, 2018, in Vancouver, Wash.

He and his family moved from West Virginia to Riffe in 1961. Tom attended White Pass High School and then worked at a sawmill for a few years, later working at Champion International building logging roads until the mid 1980s. After that, Tom worked in highway construction as a heavy equipment operator and superintendent for the rest of his career. The projects Tom worked on included rebuilding State Route 504 and USFS Road 99 after the Mount St. Helens eruption.

Tom enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, the high lakes, riding dirt bikes and camping with his family and friends. He was a good mechanic and assisted neighbors, family and friends with auto repairs and rebuilding engines. Tom loved spending time in the local woods near his residence of 45 years on Anderson Road and fishing at Riffe Lake. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Arlene. 

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas (Julie) Green, John (Shelly) Green, Anna Green, Devin Green and Madison Green; five grandchildren, Matthew Green, Kayla Green, Jaida Green, Jordan Green and Landon Green. 

A celebration of life will be held at Glenoma Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, with services at 11:30 a.m., and a potluck to follow. The family invites you to attend and celebrate Tom's life, spend time with his family and friends and share stories about him.
