Tess Marie Danielson Ruege, 35, passed away May 5, 2019, at her home in Centralia. After a courageous five year battle with metastatic breast cancer, she left her pain filled earthly body to be with Jesus. Tess was born Oct. 4, 1983, to Don and Karen Danielson.

She grew up in Centralia with her parents and two big brothers as an avid basketball and baseball player throughout school, making lifelong friends along the way. After graduation, Tess worked at Bill & Bea’s Drive-In, Safeway and Northwest Pediatrics Center.

In 2009, she married Brian Ruege of Rochester. Their son, Cody, was the love of Tess’s life and the motivation for her fight against cancer. Tess’s loving, generous heart lives on in Cody. In 2014, Tess was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. In the five years that followed, Tess underwent over 140 chemotherapy treatments and countless other medical appointments. Tess’s fight against cancer led her back to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through her trials, she unceasingly praised God in all circumstances and immersed herself in His word. When called by the Lord to use her disease as a platform to spread Christ’s message, she courageously shared her faith and her journey, penning the phrase, #thereisalwayssomethingtobethankfulfor. Tess’s testimony inspired many people to trust God and count their blessings.

In her spare time, Tess enjoyed playing with Cody, camping, shopping, travelling and going for walks.

Tess is survived by her son, Cody Ruege, nine years old; Brian Ruege; parents, Don and Karen Danielson; grandmother, Alberta “Bobbie” Danielson; and her brothers, Rocky (Grace and Tanner) Danielson and Ben (Austin and Catherine) Danielson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., May 19, 2019, at The Great Wolf Ballroom, 20500 Old Highway 99 SW, Centralia, WA 98531. Carpooling is requested as parking is limited.
