Susan Margaret Krause

A longtime resident of Centralia, Wash., Susan Margaret Krause, 75, passed away Dec. 3, 2019. She was born March 20, 1944, in Mount Vernon, Wash., to Jack and Bette McCann.

Sue worked for the Safeway Corporation and was a familiar face at the Centralia location for 25 years. She was always found humming to her own tune while serving customers. Sue always had a smile on her face for everyone that she met. She enjoyed dining out and socializing with her friends. Sue also enjoyed camping in their motorhome and singing. The most important things to her were her family and Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Krause; children, James Krause (wife, Teresa), Mary Hinchen (husband, Thomas), Paula Pitcock (husband, Criss) and Pamela Heauser; grandchilden, Brittany Boyd (husband, Brian), Frank Krause, John Krause, Thomas Hinchen II, Sarah Hinchen, Brian Hinchen (wife, Alex), Christopher Salzsieder (wife, Grace), Samantha Dotson (husband, Jason), JoAnne Copper (husband, Ben), Kevin Heauser (wife, Christina) and Austin Heauser. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing at 5 p.m., Dec. 18, 2019, followed by a rosary at 7 p.m, at the Newell-Hoerling’s Chapel in Centralia. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Dec. 19, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 N. Washington Ave., Centralia, WA 98531, followed by a reception at the church hall. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., at Claquato Cemetery, following the reception.
