On Nov. 28, 2018, Stephen Rodney Althauser Sr., loving husband, father of seven and Lewis County native, passed away at the age of 92. He was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Centralia.
Steve served in World War II in the United States Army Air Corp. Nov. 2, 1947, he married Claremay Riley. Steve worked for Pacific NW Bell, raising six boys and one girl in Centralia. He retired from US West in 1984.
Steve was preceded in death by his siblings, Don, Charlie, Laura, Gertrude and Gordon; and granddaughter, Tristi.
He is survived by his wife, Claremay; children, Stephen Jr. (Sheryl), Thomas Charles (Cherie), Mark (Pam), Susan (John Roberts), Chris (Tami), Brad (Tana) and Don (Theresa) Althauser; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services are planned for Dec. 22, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Centralia First United Methodist Church and a family burial service at Mountain View Cemetery.
