Sheryl Louise (Godley) Watson, 66, passed away at home Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, and is now home in Heaven, celebrating with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sheri was raised in San Diego, Calif., after being born Feb. 15, 1953, to James Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Godley. She provided the finishing touch to her family, following her older brothers, Larry and Bob. Sheri graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1971, and married Dan Watson Sept. 18, 1971. She started out married life as a United States Navy wife. After getting discharged from the Navy, they settled on a dairy farm in Enumclaw, Wash., where their two sons were born, Jason in 1974, and Jeremy in 1976. The family moved to Lewis County, where they continued farm life and their daughter, Carrie was born in 1980.

When her children were old enough, Sheri went to work off the farm, first working for Providence Hospital for many years, followed by a long career as a tax professional. While working as a tax professional, she enrolled at Centralia College and received her associates degree in accounting in 2012 at the age of 59! The family farm was sold at the end of 1998.

Sheri was passionate about playing hand bells and volunteering in the community. She rang hand bells for many decades, first with the Glory Ringers at Mt. View Baptist Church and later with the Rainier Ringers. Sheri was a very hard worker, working 60 to 70 hour weeks during tax season and filling vital roles in every organization that she participated in.

For many years, Sheri was a leader in AWANA clubs. She and Dan were dedicated members of Country Bible Church, Boistfort Community Church, Mt. View Baptist Church and Toledo First Baptist Church. In recent years, they were members at Trinity Christian Fellowship where Sheri served as the bookkeeper, among other roles. For the past several years, she also served as the bookkeeper and as a board member at Love Inc. of Lewis County. Above all, she was a dedicated and beloved grandmother.

Sheri was preceded in death by both of her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dan; brothers, Larry (Twila) of San Diego, Calif., and Bob (Karen) of Beaverton, Ore.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Susan Johnson of Puyallup, Wash., Dave (Ginny) Watson of Colville, Wash., Pam Ferguson of Sumner, Wash., and Tim (Laurie) Watson of Graham, Wash.
