Rosalyn Inez (Sullivan) Mason, of Virginia City, Mont., was born April 19, 1927,  and went to be with our Lord and her husband, Philip Nov. 12, 2018.

She is survived by her six children, Sharon Bovey, Jerry Mason, James Mason and his wife, Pauline, Kathy Mitchell and partner, Bill Blodgett, Coze’ (Debbie) Gress and Philip Mason Jr.; brothers, Raymond Sullivan and his wife, Brenda and Tom Sullivan and his wife, Joan; sister, Adrienne Alexander and her husband, Chuck; and sister-in-law, Joanne Sullivan. Rose also left behind her beloved Dachshund, BG “Baby Girl”; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews, all who were very special to her.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard (Earl) Sullivan and Edna Pinsky; husband, Philip E. Mason Sr.; daughter, Valerie R. Mason; granddaughter, Melanie Mason; brother, Steve “Sully” Sullivan; sister, Eva Sullivan; mother-in-law, May Mason; sons-in-law, John “Mitch” Mitchell and Steven E. Gress.

Rose was born in Butte, Mont., and grew up and attended school in Oregon. Returning to Montana, she met and married Philip Mason and moved to Centralia around 1957, where they raised their family and partnered in the family business, Mason Roofing Company. She also worked for her sisters-in-law at Peter Pan Nursing Home, all the while raising seven children.

She was an avid bowler and participated in bowling competitions in both Washington and Montana. Rose also loved family vacations, the beach, clam digging, reading and crossword puzzles.

When Rose and her husband, Philip moved back to Montana in the mid 70s, she found a new love as she snowmobiled through Yellowstone with her husband and their daughter, Sharon. She continued to work running a lunch cart at Montana Power, bartending at the pioneer bar in her beloved Virginia City and also worked in the local museum.

She will be eternally missed by all of her family and those who knew her. Please bring a favorite dish and a memory and join us at the Moose Lodge in Centralia, Jan. 20, 2019, for her celebration of life from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
