Ronald Charles “Charlie” Coleman

Ronald Charles “Charlie”  Coleman of Glenoma, Wash. peacefully slipped away from us at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Ore. He was born to Charles and Helen Coleman.

Charlie grew up hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.  He began logging with his dad while in high school.  Charlie served his country in Vietnam and upon his return, heresumed his career in the logging industry, where he worked for over 20 years. He married Bonita Nyman in 1968 and together, they raised three daughters in the Napavine and Rainier, Wash. areas.  They moved back to the Glenoma area to enjoy East Lewis County.  They recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include his wife, Bonita; daughters,  Melody (Marvin) Guenther of Mossyrock, Wash., Sandi (Mike) Pea of Mead, Wash. and Jolene (Curtis) Gibson of Battle Ground, Wash.; mother, Helen Coleman; brother, Larry (Cheryl) Coleman of Glenoma, Wash.; sisters, Pauline (Bill) Squires and Wanda Coleman; brother-in-law, Ron Murphy of Onalaska, Wash.; grandchildren, Chris (Tiffany) Guenther, Leah (Jon) Freeman, Michael (Alicia) Pea III, Mathew (Shannon) Pea and Austin Pea; great-grandchildren, Elias, Isaac, Adele and Katelynn Guenther, Archer, Barrett and Raylan Freeman, Wyatt, Alexa, Jocelyn and Zachary Pea; and numerous nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him “Bobo.”  It was a nickname he earned while growing up from his sister.  

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Coleman; sister, Rosalyn Murphy; and granddaughter, Taylor Gibson; and niece Barbara Murphy.

The family would like to thank the Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland Ore. and especially the doctors and nurses in the ICU, the pastoral care and the seventh floor of the cancer center, who did such a wonderful time offering care, support and prayers during our difficult time.
