Roberta “Bobbie” Holman Witt

Roberta “Bobbie” Holman Witt was born Feb. 6, 1930 in Elgin, Ill. to Mary and Robert Stepherson.

She spent her early years in Illinois and Los Angeles, before moving to Oakville, at age 16. There, she met the neighbor boy, John Holman and they married May 3, 1947. Together, they had seven children.  John passed away in 1976, after a long battle with cancer.

At age 43, she went to work in a plywood mill, until retiring at age 65.

In October 1980, she married Duane Witt. They spent many happy years together, until Duane lost his battle with cancer.

Roberta was an involved parent, she supported her kids by being a den mother, PTA president, sports fan and Sunday School staff. She was an active member of Oakville Assembly of God, until her failing health.

Roberta moved to Mother Joseph’s Care Center in August 2012 and resided there until her passing on May 12, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; and daughter, Jeanne Simmons.

Roberta is survived by six children,  Buck (Beulah), Bob, Jeff (June), Laurie, Mary and Chris (Susan); 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A service will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 2:00 p.m., at Oakville Assembly of God, with a reception to follow.
