Richard James Lamb, 69, also known as "Dick Lamb", of Centralia, Wash., passed away March 19, 2019. He was born in Aberdeen, Wash., to James Lamb and Merilyn Dixon in 1950.

Dick married the love of his life, Janice Hartman Lamb in August of 1970, which he described as his happiest day before he passed. Dick became a father to Erik Lamb in May of 1971, and a grandfather to Brady and Brandy Lamb. His pride and joy were his two great-grandsons, Aiden and Declan Lamb.

Dick retired in November of 2018, after an amazing 35 years of service to Centralia College. He is most known and loved for his unbelievable kindness. Dick believed in being nice and preached and promoted being nice to others as the solution to every problem. He lived a very challenged life physically and refused to live it complaining. Dick's family is most proud of his insistence on pursuing serving his God and sharing his beliefs with everyone that he could. He loved playing virtual pool and chess games online and sitting in the sunshine with a spray bottle of water while the family played in the swimming pool. Dick loved to give speeches, talks and make others laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Hartman Lamb; son, Erik (Amy); grandson, Brady (Christal); granddaughter, Brandy (Paul-Michael) Corbett; great-grandsons, Aiden and Declan Lamb; mother, Merilyn Dixon; brothers, Greg, Kevin and Corey; and sisters, Connie and Angela; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019, at  the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 10228 US-12, Rochester, WA 98579. A celebration of life reception will follow at 2 p.m., at the Fords Prairie Grange Hall, 2640 W. Reynolds Ave., Centralia, WA 98531.
