Phyllis Zumbuhl

Phyllis Zumbuhl, 90, passed away Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, while walking to church with her son, Billy. Phyllis was born Oct. 18, 1928, to John and Violet Girard in Nallpee, Wash.

Phyllis married Robert Zumbuhl Aug. 23, 1947, and together they had seven children while settling into their home in Frances, Wash.

She is survived by her two sons, Gerald (Theresa) Zumbuhl and William “Billy" Zumbuhl; grandchildren, Scott Granger, Heather Granger, Jason Pickett, Jennifer Zumbuhl, Amy (Nate) Smith, Bret Zumbuhl, Jake (Jamie) Zumbuhl and Elizabeth “Biz" (Ben) Schrempp; and several great-grandchildren, Melanie Hanson, Chase Fuller, Megan Zumbuhl, Railey Smith, Max Smith, Romie Zumbuhl, George Zumbuhl and Gracie Schrempp.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; three children, who passed away at birth; son, Bradley (Kathleen); daughter, Donelda “Donna” (Alan) Pickett; and her brother, Wesley Girard; in addition to her parents.  

Phyllis loved seeing her family and attending church.  She loved all types of animals, especially dogs and birds, but particularly hated snakes. Phyllis and Robert were well known for their large, community Easter egg hunts, which people fondly remember to this day.  

A celebration of life will be held May 5, 2019, at 1 p.m., at the Lebam Community Church. There will be a reception following the service. Arrangements are in care of Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond, Wash. You may visit www.StollersMortuary.com to leave condolences for the family.
