Peggy Lynette Eko

Peggy Lynette Eko, 79, passed away Nov. 30, 2018. Peggy was born April 28, 1939, to Jessie and Mary Jozelle Hatton in Hammond, La. Peggy and her mother were very close and moved to several different cities and states during her childhood, including San Antonio, Texas, Sumner, Wash., and Winsboro and Monroe, La.  

Peggy met Robert "Bob" Eko, the love of her life in 1959. Peggy and Bob married June 23, 1961. Peggy and Bob spent their early married years building a house and barn on their 20 acres on Davis Hill in Centralia and raising quarter horses. Peggy had a special way with all animals. She loved to take long rides on her favorite horse, Tex. She also had many cats and dogs, including Tippy, Perky and Kelly, who she loved over the years. 

Peggy and Bob had three children, Kimberly in 1963, Kristy in 1966, and Brian in 1967. Peggy was a loving mother. Peggy became a grandmother in 2001. She was immensely loved by her two grandchildren who loved to visit “Grandma HaHa”.  

Peggy worked in customer service, including the telephone company and Blue Shield. 

Peggy is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Kimberly (Mike), Kristy (Chris) and Brian (Leanne); and grandchildren, Jake and Emma.

Graveside services will be held at the Mountainview Cemetery at 12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Colleen Ferris and staff at My Blue Heaven for the care and kindness provided to Peggy in her last days.
