Olive Smith

Olive Smith, 87, passed away June 23, 2019, at her home with her two sons, daughter and granddaughter, Mandy at her bedside. She was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., Sept. 18, 1931, to Matthew and Myrtle Fairley.

Ollie met Jack Smith in high school and they were married in 1951. She worked most of her adult life at Fullers Market. Ollie began there in the early 1960s at the Fullers store in the old Yard Birds building. Through the years, she worked at both the Chehalis and Centralia stores as a checker. Ollie retired in the early 1990s after over 30 years of service. Over the years, she became close friends with many of her co-workers. Ollie enjoyed gardening, occasional trips to the Lucky Eagle Casino and spending time with her family who she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Smith; grandson, Justin Fawley; and her siblings, Alva, Nick, Lester and Edna.

Ollie is survived by her two sons, Jack Smith Jr. (Jeanie) and Greg Smith; daughter, Teresa Anderson; two granddaughters, Mandy Gardin (Erik) and Megan Smith (Scott); and two great-grandchildren, Chloe Smith and Jack Spencer Smith.

There will be a private service for family members and close friends. Please join us at Frostys Saloon & Grill in Napavine at 1 p.m., July 5, 2019, for a small get together in Ollie’s memory.
