Mary E. Lindau

Posted

Mary was born Feb. 12, 1934 in Tempe, Arizona to Richard and Agnes Gibbs.  Born a country girl, she helped raise the family livestock, often speaking of the desert picnics, wartime stories, pomegranate trees and wonderful adventures on the farm.

Moving to Washington, Mary graduated from Mossyrock High School and shortly thereafter, met Ralph “Bud” Lindau at a grange dance.  They married in July 1952 and were blessed with five children; Esther, Bud Jr., Les, Arnold and Denise.

Mary enjoyed being a stay at home mom, spending time with her pets, quilting, cooking, canning, gardening, bird watching and going to church on Sundays.  She and Bud Sr. spent many weekends camping at Green River or in Ocean Shores working on the “beach house.”  Mary lost her soul mate, Bud,  on June 24, 1994 at their family home in Onalaska.

She was preceded in death by her son, Arnold who passed in 1967 from a tragic accident; and grandson, Chris Kinnison, passing in July 2000.

She went peacefully to be with the lord on Jan. 18, 2015.

She is survived by Esther and Ron Williams, Bud and Jan Lindau, Les Lindau and Denise Schupbach; and she is loved and missed by grandchildren, Obadiah Ratkie, Kristie Christensen, Matthew Lindau, Danielle Boholst and Alexis and Madison Schupbach; and nine great-grandchildren residing in Washington and California.

We invite friends and family to join us for a potluck and celebration of life on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of God located at 133rd Third Avenue, Onalaska, WA 98570
