Marlaine Netter was born June 29, 1943, in Longview, Wash., to Jerry and Vivian Smiley.
She was married to Paul Netter for 59 years. She worked at Lower Columbia College for 30 years. Her hobbies included spending time outdoors, cooking and working on the family farm.
Marlaine was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Lloyd and Jerry Ann Uhtman; and brother, Tom Smiley.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Russell Netter (Sharon); daughter, Reta Layton (Rick); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Fir Lawn Funeral Home will have a viewing from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday, Feb 21, 2020. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, with a viewing/vigil one hour prior to service. It will be held at St. Francis Mission in Toledo, Wash., with a reception to follow.
