Mark Allen Davidson, 64, passed away on April 11, 2014 in his home in Onalaska, Wash.

Born in Los Angeles, Calif. on July 4, 1949 to Duncan and Josephine Davidson, he grew up exploring the ranches, deserts, mountains and surf of Southern California. He graduated from South Hills High School, Covina in 1966 and attended the University of Washington, where he met and married Paige Read in 1968.

A love for woodworking and handcraft led Mark to start Blue Star Construction. He moved to Onalaska in 1978, had two sons in 1980 and 1984 and divorced in 1993.

Mark’s rooftop view of the world contributed to his joyful and philosophical perspective on life and for many of his clients he was more than just their "roofer."

He was an avid naturalist, hiker and camper and enjoyed working the land, gardening and raising animals, making strong connections with all living creatures.

Mark is survived by his loving partner, Theresa Knutsen; sons, Morgan and Travis Read-Davidson; granddaughters, Hannah and Arielle; and siblings, Eric, Bruce and Debby Davidson.

A celebration of life potluck will be held at the Lewis and Clark State Park, Kitchen Shelter #1, July 12, 2014 3:00 p.m. Please bring your stories, memories and a side dish.
