Larry Dallas Wilson of Chehalis, 75, passed away May 14, 2018, at Providence St. Peter Hospital, after a short illness.

He was born May 13, 1943, and was a lifetime resident of Chehalis. Many knew him from his 35 years of working at the Chehalis Post Office, as well as his involvement in local churches where he was known for his strong tenor singing voice. Throughout the years he sang in numerous weddings and funerals and local events. He frequently was a featured soloist in “The Singing Christmas Tree” at Bethel Church and in community productions of Handel’s Messiah.

Larry was a member of the United States Army Medical Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He and his wife, Mary Ann, were married for 50 years and after retiring they enjoyed camping trips and traveling as well as tending their garden together. Larry was also active as a volunteer at the Lewis County Gospel Mission in Chehalis where he cooked breakfast several times a week. He was an avid hunter and keen fisherman, fishing trips to the high lakes in Canada for 15 years and several trips to Alaska were highlights. Larry truly loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dallas; his mother, Mildred; and brother, Dennis.

Larry is survived by his wife Mary Ann; his daughter, Jennifer; son, Craig (Sarah); grandchildren, Jonah and Leira; and his brother, Fred. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and appreciated his generous, gentle spirit.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held, 11 a.m., May 26, 2018, at Centralia Community Church of God, 3320 Borst Ave., Centralia, WA 98531. A luncheon will follow the service. To celebrate, his life the family encourages you to wear your favorite flannel shirt! Arrangements are under the care of Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
