Kent Robert Baird

Posted

It is with great sadness that the family of Kent Robert Baird announce his passing Sept. 16, 2018, at the age of 46, after his long battle with cancer.

Kent leaves behind his loving wife, Deana; children, Courtney, Shelby, Zachary and Brady; mother, Carol; sister, Kelly (Marc); brothers, Keith (Jeanette) and Kevin; and his in-laws, Donnie and Nelda Clendennen. Along with Kent’s family, he leaves behind a wealth of friendships that span his childhood, his Naval service, and his life in Rochester.

After graduating Boron High School in Boron, Calif., in 1990, Kent joined the United States Navy and proudly served for more than 10 years. He was in the Naval Nuclear Power Program and served on the USS Arkansas and the USS Abraham Lincoln. He met his wife on the Lincoln in 1996. They have been happily married since March 1997. Kent and Deana moved their growing family to Rochester, Wash., in 2001.

After Kent’s diagnosis in 2010, he invested all his energy into the life he and Deana had built with their children. In every sense of the word, he was their superman. His death leaves a hole that will never be filled.

Kent’s celebration of life will be held in Rochester, Wash., in October. Details to be released at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a brain cancer charity in Kent’s name.

May Kent get where he is going on fair winds and following seas.
