Kay Arlene King, 58, passed in peace after battling cancer in her home with her family by her side in Ethel, Wash., Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at 12:46 a.m. She was born in Morton, Wash., to Jerry and Joan Rhodes.

Kay graduated  from Onalaska High School in 1979, and graduated from Centralia Beauty School shortly after. She was a beautician for several years,  a care giver and bartender. Kay later started watching her grandchildren and that kept her very busy but she enjoyed and cherished every moment with them.

Kay was a strong, beautiful, kind person with a heart of gold. Her smile was contagious and she had a wonderful personality. Kay lived and enjoyed simple pleasures; gardening, sewing, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Kay is survived by her wonderful husband of 39 years, Jeff King; her caring brothers and sisters, Roy Rhodes, Julie Wright, Wanda (Dale) Lankford and Ralph Rhodes; loving mother to Ashley (Erik) Palmerson, Amanda (Trevor) Dalebout and Alicia (Brad) Harmanson; and the best “Grammy Kay Kay” to Morgan Palmerson, Liv Palmerson, Kelley Palmerson, Tarynn Dalebout, Dylan Dalebout and Brooklyn Harmanson.

The King family would like to extend our gratitude to all who have helped and showered all of us with love during this difficult time.

A celebration of life and potluck for Kay will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at 5 p.m., at Mason Jar located at 637 Leonard Rd., Onalaska, WA 98570.
