Karl Max Muller

Karl Max Muller, 86, passed away Jan. 8, 2018. He was born June 27, 1931, to Helena (Werner) and Max Muller.

Karl grew up in Kellogg, Idaho and Chewelah, Wash. He graduated from Chewelah High School in 1949, and served in the United States Army in Korea, from 1952 to 1954, receiving an honorable discharge.

In 1955, Karl began his career with Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. During the next 35 years, he supervised spawning, hatching and distribution of millions of steelhead and trout to streams, rivers and lakes throughout Washington.

In 1958, while working at the Mossyrock hatchery, Karl met and married the love of his life, Bernadine. They were married for 59 years. In 1990, Karl and Bernadine retired and returned to Mossyrock, where they enjoyed living near Mayfield Lake for the next 26 years, then they moved to Centralia in 2016.

Karl is survived by his loving wife, Bernadine; and daughters, Debra and Janet.

A memorial service for Karl Muller will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 2 p.m., at the Salkum Community Church, 149 Wilcox Rd., Salkum WA 98582.
