Kara Jeanne Moore

Posted

Kara Jeanne Moore was born in Centralia to Cleve and Nedra Ramsey, Oct. 5, 1946, her dad’s birthday. She passed away at Capital Medical Center April 27, 2019, after a valiant five year battle with cancer.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Chuck) Hendricksen; son, Craig Moore of Olympia;  step-children,  Stuart, Lelani  and Kenny;  grandchildren, Tanner and Trev Atchison,  Madeline, Kiaya, Kassandra and Kendall Hendricksen; great-granddaughter, Rylee Ashby;  sisters, Arden Duffy (Hans) of Onalaska,  Mary (Richard) Graham of Chehalis and  Paula (Dave) Peretti of Wenatchee;  brother, John (D’Ann) Ramsey of Pasco; many nieces and nephews; as well as cousins, Marveen Rohr and Loretta Hays, two of her strongest supporters who were more like sisters than cousins.

Kara was preceded in death by her sisters, Patti Ann Ramsey, Barbara Aukerman and Kathy Conrad; her parents, Cleve and Nedra Ramsey; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Kara was so proud of all her family, especially that one of her nieces received her Doctor of Nursing Practice and two great-nieces became registered nurses, a field Kara always said they chose because of her. She also held a special place in her heart for her aunts, Merle Jean Bates and Lois Ramsey and best friend, Rosie Greene, her favorite casino buddy.

She attended school in Centralia, Lacey and Hemet,  Calif., South Puget Sound College before graduating from St. Martins University with a bachelor of science in nursing in 1992. Her lifetime work was at many hospitals and nursing facilities before her retirement and she was a very passionate nurse who cared deeply for her patients.

We, as Kara’s family, would like to especially thank Dr. Dustin Osborn and all her nurses for the wonderful care she received. Now she may rest in the peace she has been seeking and all her pain has gone away.

No services are planned at this time, but a gathering of family and friends will be held at a future date.
