Joanne Joylene (Rayton) Clark

Posted

Joanne Joylene (Rayton) Clark, also known as Grandma Bubbles, Jan, Jody and JoJo over the years, went to be with the Lord, June 24, 2018, at Sharon Care Center. She was born at home in Chehalis, Wash., to Elmer and Helen (Prill) Rayton, Feb. 21, 1935. Joanne was raised in Boisfort and graduated from Boisfort High School.

She married H.A. (Art) Clark and they had five children. Joanne worked for Truitt Collection Agency right out of high school. Later, she sold Beeline clothing and Avon. Joanne also volunteered in the kitchen for years with the Southwest Washington Fair entertainment Department. Her proudest achievement was raising five children, followed closely by starting the Lewis County Food Bank and serving as president for over 20 years. Her fighting spirit and positive attitude helped her cope with back surgeries, colon cancer, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Art; son, Kevin; and grandson, James H. Vassar.

Joanne is survived by her children, Cheryl (Larry) Coleman, Larry (Sherry) Clark, Kim (Rick) Florek and Brenda Vassar; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to the wonderful people at Sharon Care Center and Assured Hospice for their compassionate and prompt care of our Mom. Per Joanne’s request, there will be no services.

To honor her memory, please continue her legacy by caring for others.

Arrangements are under the care of Cattermole Funeral Home, Winlock. Please visit our website at cattermolefh.com to leave a condolence.
