Jimmie Lee Howell passed away July 14, 2019, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash., surrounded by his loving family during his last days. He was born to Harold and Barbara Howell in Sioux City, Iowa, Jan. 18, 1939.

Jimmie grew up in Iowa and joined the  United States Air Force at 17 years old. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 30 years of service. Jimmie served during the Vietnam War.

After he retired, Jimmie attended college for small engine repair. He worked as a school bus driver and a truck driver. Jimmie loved hunting, fishing, driving, fixing engines, square dancing, telling stories and collecting junk.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jan; children, Bob (Kristi) Howell, Jay (Tracy) Howell, Christy (Jeff) Gagne and Kathy Howell; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers, Dick (Bonnie) Dimmick, Jack (Georgia) Howell and Cleo Tippery; and sister, Donna Ross.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Howell and Barbara McAloon; and sons, Dannie Howell, and Donnie Howell.
