James Claude Seiber, 76, of Cinebar, Wash., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 7, 2019, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. James was born in Oliver Springs, Tenn., to Sabe and Maudie Mae (Brashiears) Seiber.

James graduated from Oliver Springs High School and enlisted with the United States Army not long after. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served our country bravely, retiring after 25 years of service in 1986. He married the love of his life, Darlene Dee Arnold at her aunt’s home in Tacoma, Jan. 3, 1981. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, his faithful dog, Spike and puttering around on his five acre property.

James is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harold, Yann, Edward, Billy and Paul Seiber.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughter, Angelika Seiber; sons, James C. (Moiria) Seiber Jr., Cary A. (Crystal) Vance and John Douglas “Doug” (Becky) Vance; Anjelika’s children, Gary Dobbs, Chris and Kindall Ford; James Jr.’s children, James C. Seiber III, Paul Seiber and Sabrina Ogden; Cary’s children, Matthew and Andrew Rhome, Royale and Miller Vance; Doug’s children, Brandon Vance, Ashley Howard, Dawson Vance, Summer Erdahl, Quincey Allan, Emily Cleveland and Sophia Lauritzen; great-grandchildren, Chase Slater, twins, Hayden and Cruz Vance, Corbin Howard, twins, Mila and Bryson Howard, Jax Allan and Opal Owens; sister, Bette McCarrol; and many other extended family members and friends.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2019, at Alpha Cemetery in Onalaska, Wash. The family has invited anyone whose lives James touched to their home for a potluck barbecue and celebration of his life after the service. The location of this potluck will be announced at the cemetery.
