Hubert “Hub” James Callahan, 91, of Randle, Wash., passed away at his home Tuesday, June 25, 2019. He was born in Randle, July 31, 1927, to Thomas and Bridget (Gillooly) Callahan. He lived his entire life in Lewis County.

Hub spent much of his life working in the logging industry as a bulldozer operator, but his passion was his farm. He spent much time there raising his cattle, taking care of his fields and spending many hours on his tractor.

Hub is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice; children, Michael J. (Kukui) Callahan, Ann (William) Callahan-Woodham and Nancy (John) Landeis; six grandchildren, Jessica Callahan, Jared Callahan, Aaron Woodham, Brent Woodham, Bridget Wallace and Jacob Landeis; seven great-grandchildren, Lillian, Landon, Joleen, Olivia, Maxine, Maverick and Jaxon; and many other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Brown Mortuary Service in Morton, Wash., with a brief graveside service to follow the funeral service at Silver Creek Cemetery, 687 Silverbrook Rd., Randle, WA 98377. Hub’s family invites all whose lives he touched to share memories at a potluck reception to be held after burial at the Randle United Methodist Church, 116 Kindle Rd., Randle, WA 98377. Donations in memory of Hub may be gifted to the White Pass Scholarship fund.
