Helen Viola Iverson was born in Pierre,  South Dakota on January 28, 1931 to Laverne and Mildred Iverson and was the fourth of eight children. At an early age, her family moved to Washington state and settled in the Rochester area, where her Dad was a farmer. Helen attended Meadows grade school and graduated from Rochester High School in 1949.  She married Ralph Tobin in 1950. Her children with Ralph are Becky Connors (Jim), Tim Tobin (Janice),  Mark Tobin (Suzanne), Ron Tobin, and Tami Tobin.  Ralph died of a heart attack in July of 1969. Helen married Les West in December 1970. Les brought three children to the marriage who are Lynn West (Carla),  Meliah Bamford (Harvey) and Roger West. Helen is survived by her husband Les West and her children as well as brothers, sisters and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

As a young girl Helen became a Christian and devoted all of her life to serving God. Over the years she taught Good News Club, Vacation Bible School and Sunday School.

In the 1960's Helen went to Centralia College and got her LPN certificate and was employed in Centralia as a nurse for a number of years.

Mom was a wonderful loving mother and wife who always had the best interest of her family at heart! She will be greatly missed!

Mom would not want us to grieve for her because she is now in heaven where their is no more pain and suffering and where she can reunite with her loved ones and see her beloved Jesus!

A private graveside service was held. A public celebration of life gathering will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at  Bethel Church, 132 Kirkland Road Chehalis, WA 98532, (In Fireside Room). Flowers may be sent to this address.
