Geryldine "Gerry" Touchette

Geryldine "Gerry" Pearl Shearer Foglesong Touchette, 91, of Centralia, Wash., joined her Lord Jan. 2, 2018, in Rochester, Wash., surrounded by her family.  Gerry was born in Centralia, Wash., to Grace (Jenkins) Shearer and Gerald Shearer March 26, 1926.

She attended Centralia High School and graduated in 1944.  Gerry went on to attend Centralia Community College and was the first woman student body president.

In 1945, Gerry married James "Jim" Foglesong and they began their life together in the little house on Fords Prairie, where their eight children were born.  They moved to Jim’s family homestead in 1962, where Gerry resided until 2013. During her time on the farm, Mom enjoyed raising flowers, tending her garden and sewing many stuffed animals to be given to hospitalized children. Gerry was an active member of the Harrison Square Presbyterian Church and was a faithful member of the Thursday bible study group.  She spent many enjoyable hours with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In 2008, Gerry married William "Bill" Touchette.  Gerry and Bill spent their years together, enjoying each other’s company, playing cribbage and cooking together.  

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Foglesong and Bill Touchette; sister and brother in-law, Bob and Lavola Meyer; and her twin sons, Larry and Terry Foglesong.

Gerry is survived by her six children, Gwen Stephens, Linda Foglesong, Allan Foglesong, Debra and John Canfield, Donna and Ron Lotton and Jeri Parrish; grandchildren, Angela (John) Libal, Tiffany (Patrick) Blackburn, Michael (Amy) Madoche, Paul Madoche, Matthew Madoche, Jennifer (Rex) Ashmore, Chad (Becca) Foglesong, Cory (Jenny) Canfield, Cary (James) Aliff, Sam (Brittny) Canfield, Editha Canfield, Allison Howard, Lauren Nisco, Jessica (Nick)Vanderveldt, Emma (Chris) Rodriguez Parrish and Phillip Parrish; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved deeply.

Visitation will be held at Newell-Hoerling's Funeral Home Saturday, Jan. 17, 2018, from 11  a.m. to 1 p.m. Please join us in a celebration of life at Harrison Square Presbyterian Church in Centralia, Wash., Jan. 17, 2018, at 2 p.m.
