Gerald A. Keller, a Boistfort Valley resident, died Oct. 18, 2018, at home with his family. He was born March 26, 1937, in Chehalis, Wash., to Oscar and Marian Keller.

Gerry grew up in the Boistfort area and attended Boistfort grade school and graduated from Boistfort High School in 1955. He spent much of those early years with his good friend, Dick Stearns, fishing the Chehalis, hiking, camping and exploring the hills, rivers and valley. Dick preceded him in death earlier this year.

He attended Centralia College before finishing his bachelor of arts in engineering at the University of Washington in 1960. After college, he spent two years in the United States Army in Greenland before working for the Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle Division from 1962 to 1995, ending as chief of project operations.

Gerry loved fly fishing, woodworking and hunting and hiking. He spent his retirement living where he loved, on the family homestead, working beside his brother, Michael on many projects.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Daren, Brian and Garet; stepson, Kris Aman; seven grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Marilyn Keller of Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family celebration of his life is planned.
