George “Sonny” Colson III

George “Sonny” Colson III, 74, passed away peacefully June 14, 2019, in Randle, Wash. He was born in Yuba City, Calif.

George moved to Randle, Wash., as a young child where he grew up and graduated from White Pass High School. He worked for many years for Willard Latimer in logging and as a heavy equipment operator. George was gifted with the ability to fix anything.

He married Arlette Joyce in 1965, and together they raised three children, Jack, Kyle and Joy. George had three grandsons, Conner, Chase and Calvin, a great-granddaughter, Elena and Curt Atkinson, who was like a son to him, all of whom he loved with all of his heart.

George enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, jeeping, hunting and fishing on the Cowlitz River. He most enjoyed when friends and family stopped by for a visit in the lean-to. Those that stopped by all knew that his favorite saying was, “Don’t be dumb!”. His dog, Blue, was a special companion that was always by his side.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Colson; his sisters, Kimberly Pollman and Karla Colson; and two of his children, Kyle and Joy.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Arlette; their son, Jack (Carrie) Colson of Onalaska, Wash.; grandsons, Conner (Karlee)  Colson of Onalaska, Wash., Chase Colson of Onalaska, Wash., and Calvin Colson of Winlock, Wash.; great-granddaughter, Elena of Onalaska, Wash.; brothers, Ray (Shana) Colson of Randle, Wash., and Kevin (Cindy) Colson of Cinebar, Wash.; sisters, Karen Tiller of Shelton, Wash., and Sharon (Paul) Auman of Onalaska, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at the Silver Creekw Cemetery, 687 Silverbrook Rd., Randle, WA 98377, June 29, 2019, at 11 a.m., to be followed by a celebration of life with a potluck at the Family Worship Center, 10074 US-12 (across Highway 12 from the White Pass High School).
