Gary Adams Bennett of Chehalis, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 26, 2019. He was born April 7, 1945, in Provo, Utah, he was the third of four children.

He graduated from high school in Orem, Utah, in 1963, he then served four years in the United States Navy, assigned to the USS Halsey Powell. Soon after he completed his service with the Navy, Gary moved to Kent, Wash., and got a job working in the shipyards as a welder. While working in the shipyards, he met a cute little waitress working at a cafe near his home. After dating for several months, Gary married Lila Ward Dec. 2, 1967, in Kent. They were later sealed in the Seattle Washington Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gary took a job with Boeing as an inspector, where he worked for over 37 years, and later retired. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, developing his property and mostly, he loved spending time with his family.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred S. and Mary Ann Bennett; and brother, Alfred Bennett.

After 52 years of marriage, Gary is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lila; sisters, Colleen Larsen and Ruth Ann Vreeken; six children, Tim (Mary) Bennett, Kimberly (Nighthawk) Knight, Theresa (Mike) Biaggi, David (Joy) Bennett, Carrie (Kalani) Kauhi and Jaidyn Bennett; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He will be loved and missed by all.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., March 9, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2195 Jackson Highway, Chehalis, WA 98532. Viewing will be held at 9 a.m.
