Fay Anne Voie, aged 64, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 28, 2019. She was born in Hillsdale, Mich., to William & Evelyn “Louise” Kemp, the second of four children.

Fay and her family lived in Hillsdale and then Los Banos, Calif., before moving to Winlock when she was 12. Fay was a member of the graduating class of 1972 at Mount St. Helens High School. On Dec. 26, 1974, she married Randy G. Voie at her parents’ home in Winlock. The couple moved to the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y., in the fall of 1976. They returned back to Winlock two years later.

Fay was employed as a bus driver for the Winlock School District for many years. She also worked as a classroom aide. Spending time at the beach and traveling with her husband on the Olympic Peninsula and San Juan Islands were among her favorite activities. Fay relished finding a bargain while thrift-store shopping, especially at the Goodwill in Centralia. Her favorite season was spring. and she loved gardening. She was a very good cook and was always on the lookout for recipes. Fay was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 19, 1968. She truly enjoyed the fellowship of her congregation, visits to other Kingdom Halls, and attending Assemblies. Witnessing to her neighbors about the Kingdom hope from God’s word brought her great joy.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Randy, at home; three daughters, Jasmine Voie of Tacoma, Melissa Voie of Winlock and Rebekah Voie of Astoria, Ore.; three grandsons, Tyler, Brendon, and Avery; two brothers, Chris (Kathy) Kemp of Winlock and Mike Kemp of Winlock; and a sister, Phyllis (Gaylen) Gehrig of Wenatchee.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at the Winlock Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A reception will follow next door at the Olequa Senior Center.

Fay’s family shares her appreciation for the wonderful care she received through the years from many doctors and nurses at places such as St. Peter’s Hospital, Virginia Mason, Assured Home Health and the University of Washington Medical Center. She was particularly appreciative of her longtime nephrologist, Dr. Christopher Burtner of Memorial Nephrology Associates of Olympia.
