Ernest L. Cole

Ernest L. Cole was born Aug. 30, 1938, to Edna and Harold Cole. He passed away July 31, 2018.

Ernest graduated Mossyrock High School in 1956, and went into the United States Air Force.  He served as a pilot in Vietnam, then became an air traffic controller until retiring in 1977. After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University, he started a second career as a sales tax auditor for the State of Washington until retiring.  Ernest’s hobbies were stamp collecting, model trains, computer games and enjoying the great Washington outdoors.

He is survived by his daughter, Valerie; brother, Ed (Pearl); sister, Irene (Jerry); and many nieces and nephews.

Military inurnment service with full military honors was held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. A memorial gathering will be held Sept. 8, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Puyallup Best Western Plaza Hotel.
