Eddie T. Sato, of Las Vagas, Nev., passed away Nov. 13, 2016, a resident of Las Vegas for 22 years. He was born Jan, 16, 1930, in Seattle, Wash.

Eddie and his family, once released from internment camp, moved to Chehalis, where he grew up. He spent his days helping with the family farming business, growing vegetables and strawberries and working at Tires Inc. He graduated from Adna High School in 1947.

Eddie married his wife, Janice (Ozar) June 13, 1959, and two years later they had a son, Richard Sato. The family then moved to Seattle and Eddie started a new job with Standard Pacific Tire, running the retread plant. In 1973, he was offered the opportunity to work with Frank Pupo at Sam's Tire, in Tacoma, Wash. Frank gave him an opportunity to manage a store in Seattle. They later became partners with Sam's Tire, Seattle. Eventually, Eddie and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company became partners. In 1994, he retired and he and Janice and moved Vegas.

For his success with Sam's Tire Service, he would like to give special thanks and recognition to his brother, John Sato and his partner, Frank Pupo, for his opportunity.

Eddie was a member of the Lions Club in Seattle, where he donated his time helping the local community and made several lifelong friends. He loved fishing, golf and playing poker at the casino. Eddie would always have a parlay card in his hand. He was an avid fan of the Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners. Eddie Sato taught me true love and care as a father. He taught me how to be honest, a true friend and partner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomitchi and Hanako Sato; as well as a sister, Jane Sato.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Richard T. Sato (Julie); two grandsons, Derrick and Ryan; one brother, John (Reiko) Sato of Bellevue, Wash.; and three sisters, Toshi (George) Tambera of Sacramento Calif., Amy (Chuck) Kinoshita of Seattle, Wash., and Irene (Ray) Yamaskai of Auburn, Calif.

A memorial service will be held Jan. 16, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, in Centralia. A reception will be immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seattle Lions Club or Adna High School.
