Dorothy Mae Mordick

Dorothy Mae Mordick passed away Feb. 9, 2020. She was born in her aunt Mary’s house in Corning, Iowa, Jan. 13, 1924.

Dorothy spent most of her childhood in the very rural area of Lay, Colo. Her father was a truck driver and her mother was a Sunday school teacher. They moved to Los Angeles after she graduated high school, where Dorothy attended business school. She lived in San Francisco for a while before moving to Chehalis. Dorothy met her husband, Lavern, a former POW, during World War II. They were married in Chehalis after the war, and eventually settled in Centralia.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Mordick; and her daughter, Cindy Chenoweth.

She is survived by her two sons, Paul Mordick and his wife, Susan and Lynn Mordick and his wife, Diane; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
