Don Vandal

Don Vandal passed away of lung cancer July 12, 2018, in Centralia, Wash., where he was born July 13, 1948, to Dave and Lu Vandal. He was one day short of turning 70.  

Don graduated in 1966, from W. F. West High School in Chehalis, Wash. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1975. He was very proud of being in the Marine Corps and serving his country in the Vietnam War. After the Marine Corps, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. Don loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and was a fan of the Mariners and Seahawks. He belonged to the American Legion, Eagles, Moose and Masons.

He is survived by his son, Donny Vandal, wife, Nichole and their children, Cody, Morgan, Caitland and Rachelle; daughter, Tracy Hansen, husband, Chris and their children, Kelsi Erb, Kolby, Caleb and Talia; daughter, Teri Bryant, husband, Rick and their children, Tyler and Jordan; former wife, Debbie Haugh; and special niece, Cheyenne Vandal.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, David, Dennis and Greg Vandal.

Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis, WA 98532. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Claquato Cemetery.
