Dolores Ann Garcia, 90, passed away quietly in the early hours of July 18, 2019. She was born to John and Mamie Freitas, Feb. 13, 1929, in Redwood City, Calif.

Dolores was one of three daughters, raised in Hayward, Calif., and was a graduate of Hayward High School. As a baby, she was given the nickname of “Honey”, a name that stayed with her through the years because of her sweet, kind and gentle nature. Dolores met Joseph Garcia of Union City, Calif., and enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his death in 2007. He was the love of her life and she was very devoted to him. During their life together, they moved many times as Dolores enjoyed a new house and making it a home (all 20 of them). During their time together, they moved to Canada where they lived for 25 years before returning home to the United States of America.

Dolores was an excellent housewife and took great pride and care in looking after her family, her home and preparing lovely meals. She was meticulous in appearance and maintaining her home. She also worked outside of the home in the accounting field for several years.

Dolores is survived by her three children, JoAnn Garcia, David Garcia (Marilyn) and Mark Garcia (Karen); eight grandchildren, Adam (Shana), Todd (Bethany), Julie, Christa (Mark), Matthew (Carmel), Nicholas, Ryan and Brittany (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kyoto, Ava, Keegan, Marina, Kylie and Augustus; and many nieces and nephews, whom adored her and called her Auntie Honey.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chehalis. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2019, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore.
