Devin Elizabeth (Church) Arnold, 37, of New Bern, N.C., passed away Aug. 4, 2016, at East Carolina Hospital in New Bern, N.C., after a long battle of Addison’s disease.

A celebration of life in her honor will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at the Mason Jar, 637 Leonard Rd., Onalaska, WA 98570.

Devin was born in Centralia, Wash., to William and Linda (Carter) Church. She grew up on her family farm in Ethel, Wash., where she was raised with the love of her family. She graduated from Onalaska High School, Onalaska, Wash., in 1997, with honors and several track and field scholarships. Devin graduated from Clark College in Vancouver, Wash., in 1999, where she ran track and was sponsored by Nike. She achieved an associate degree in business administration. Devin continued her education at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland, Ore., with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management.

She started her working career in hospitality management, as a manager at several 5 Star Restaurants within the Portland, Ore., and Vancouver, Wash., area. After transferring to North Carolina, with her husband in 2008, Devin started into the field of banking. She worked for Bank of America in New Bern, 1st Mariner Mortgage in Havelock and First Citizens Bank aboard Cherry Point, Marine Corps Air Station for several years.

In 2014, Devin began working at Movement Mortgage, as a Loan Officer, achieving and exceeding several milestones in successful processed loans that provided several families exceptional service to obtain their homes.

Devin enjoyed cooking, boating with her husband and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dean and their two children,  Matthew and Samantha; mother, Linda; father, William; siblings, Dracy McCoy and Derek Church; and several nieces and nephews, from her home state of Washington. Blessed be her memory.
