Debra Sue Fischer

Debra Sue Fischer passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, in Olympia, Wash., at Providence St. Peter Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Pomona, Calif., as the only daughter amongst four boys. 

As a young adult, Deb settled down with her family in the surrounding Seattle area and began her career in international trade and transportation. She tirelessly pursued her college education while raising young children and believed in continuously learning throughout her life. Debra was a well-known Customs Broker and highly respected in her field of work. She held a position as the president of the Customs Brokers and International Freight Forwarders Association of Washington State (CBIFFAWS) from 2010 to 2015, and truly enjoyed her work alongside her influential colleagues. 

Deb loved to garden, drink wine with her girls and breathe in the ocean air. She enjoyed crafting and the arts, as well as spending time with her husband during hunting season. 

Deb is survived by her loving husband, Greg; mother, Doris; children, Mandee, Shawn, Stephanie and Kristin; and step-daughter, Becka. 

She is remembered for her loving kindness and warmth to her children, grandchildren, friends and colleagues alike. 

The funeral for Debra will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at the Boisfort Cemetery, for her immediate family only. There will be a celebration of life following the private graveside service at 12 p.m., noon, for all to attend at the Jester Auto Museum in Chehalis, Wash.
