Darlene Anderson, 77, longtime Rochester, Wash. resident, passed away July 19, 2016.

She was born July 9, 1939, in Seattle, Wash., to Edward and Hazel (Benner) Keehn. Darlene was raised and educated in Olympia, Wash., where her parents owned the South Union Mercantile. She married Bob Anderson almost 50 years ago Sept. 17, 1966, in Olympia, Wash. She worked at Webster Forest Nursery and sold Avon for many years.

Darlene loved the Lord and was a member of the Rochester Life Assembly of God Church, where she ran the Nursing Home Ministry. She traveled to Russia with New Hope Outreach Ministries and worked in a local soup kitchen. Darlene was also a 50 year member of the Grange and served as master at the Violet Prairie location. She was a member of the Possetts. Darlene enjoyed quilting, Thomas Kinkade puzzles and irises. She loved her family, horses and the color purple!

Darlene is survived by her husband, Bob Anderson; sister, Eilene Anderson of Rochester; two brothers, Louis Keehn of Olympia and Wesley Pitman of Woodenville; and many nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Dawn Anderson and Melissa Anderson; two brothers, Mickey Keehn and Fred Keehn; and her parents.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grand Mound Cemetery. A celebration of life potluck will follow at the Violet Prairie Grange.
