Darell Conley Blankenship was born in Centralia, Wash., July 31 1947, and went to heaven April 11, 2018.

Darell served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1972, on the USS Carronade and the USS Arlington. After the Navy, he then became a truck driver for several years until he settled down in Rochester, Wash., driving school bus. After several years of cancers, Heaven gained one strong fighter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Neuhman Blankenship; mother, Donna Kanoff; brother, Monte-Gabe Blankenship; and daughter, Kathrine Blankenship.

Darell is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cindy Blankenship of Rochester, Wash.; son, Kenneth Young-Blankenship and daughter, Kimberly Young-Blankenship of Mo.; daughters, Lovella Knopp of Puyallup, Wash., Danielle Doelman of Rochester, Wash., and Deanna Portillo of Fife, Wash.; brothers, Harvey Blankenship of Idaho, Bob Blankenship of Rochester, Harry Blankenship and Kelly Blankenship; sister, Cheryl Blankenship of Olympia, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life potluck dinner with honors to Darell at 2 p.m., April 28, 2018, at the Littlerock Posse Hall, 5949 Maytown Rd. SW, Olympia, WA 98512.
