Beverly Ann (Lusk) King

Posted

Beverly passed away peacefully on the morning of Oct. 12, 2018, after a long illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1932, to Wert Ralph Lusk and Arada (Taylor) Lusk, the eleventh child of their eventual fifteen, and grew up in the house where she was born, on a farm on Elk Creek Road, near Doty, Wash.

After marrying Ivan King Dec. 13, 1952, she lived briefly in Oregon. In 1956, she and Ivan purchased her childhood home and raised their five children there. She was a lifelong member of the Doty Pentecostal Church of God.

Beverly was a generous cook and there was always room at her table for anyone who showed up. She knew how to work and how to play, but would drop everything to hold a baby. Her sisters and nieces were her best friends. Beverly loved Hawaii and visited many times, sometimes threatening to move there. Although she lived in a care home after a stroke in 2014, she still loved having company, grew to love her caregivers as family and always loved to laugh.

Beverly is survived by her children, Eric (Betty) King of Doty, Wash., Bethany (Bruce) Reid of Edmonds, Wash., Kathy (Buck) Staab of Lewiston, Idaho, and Sharyl (Ron) Quinn of Allyn, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and a growing number of great-grandchildren; as well as four siblings, Evelyn Tyler of Pe Ell, Darlene Merrill of Napavine, Bunny Karch of Chehalis and Bill Lusk of Doty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Daniel King, the love of her life, who passed in 2010; their son, Matthew Eugene; and a grandson; and great-grandson.

It was hard for her to let go of this life, but there is rejoicing in heaven, for a saint has come home.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at the Napavine Assembly of God.
