Barbara was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Galesburg, Ill. She passed away at home in Chehalis, with her husband of 73 years, Wayne, previously of Lakewood, by her side.
Bobbi, as her friends called her, met the love of her life, Wayne as a teenager. They married in 1945, and moved to Lakewood in 1949, where they raised four children, Patricia Wheaton (Terry) of Spanaway, Michael (deceased) (Linda) of Dupont, James Chehalis and Nancee Alvord (Darrell) of Salkum. Barbara retired from Clover Park Schools as a cook.
Bobbi was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother of 10, and great-grandmother of 10. She was very proud of her family and cherished spending time with them. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. She loved RVing with friends, watching sports and attending the yearly family and friends reunion. Bobbi always saw the positive side of all things. She was companionate, fair, and quick witted with a fun sense of humor. Her good cheer and ability to look forward kept her life free of grudges.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Feb. 19, 2019, at Mountain View Funeral Home.
