Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Maine-Lensch, 66, passed away peacefully at home in Chehalis, Wash., surrounded by family, Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

She was born Sept. 18, 1946 to Lawton and Eleanor (Hayden) Sauls in Norfolk, Va.  In her youth, she lived in Miami, Fla., where she also graduated from high school.  During her marriage to U.S. Army helicopter  pilot, John “Roger” Maine, she was very proud to support his service to their country.

Following graduation from nurses’ college in Lakewood, Wash., Bobbie was employed as a nurse for 21 years with Group Health in Tacoma, Wash.  Following her nursing career, she became an antiques dealer, vending at shows and owning and operating her own shops including Bobbies’ Antiques and Bobbies and Chucks Farmhouse Antiques.  Once in a newspaper business article, Bobbie was described as “A force to be reckoned with”.  Indeed, she was personable and easy to love.

The happiest years of her life were with her husband Chuck. They were married in 1998 in their own home in Chehalis. Together they not only antiqued but reached out to their community.  During the last flood they volunteered helping to feed the displaced.  Bobbie enjoyed cooking and each week gave one day to cook for the Chehalis Gospel Mission until only recently becoming too ill to continue.

Memorials may be donations of gifts for children which may be brought to the Sticklin Chapel, in Centralia, Wash., for distribution through the Salvation Army, continuing a tradition of giving that was very close to Bobbie’s heart.

Survivors include husband, Chuck Lensch, daughters, Cathleen Carr, Kimberly Maine and Kristine Jackson, sons, Brett and Daniel Lensch, sister, Susan Pflieger, grandson, Dorian Maine, grandaughters , Chanel Grant and Chantell Maine, and a new great-grandson, Evan Vasily Yakis.

Visitation may be made between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 am, Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
