Ava Ardella Klein

Ava Ardella Klein of Tenino, Wash., 86, passed away on July 1, 2012.  She was born on July 24, 1925 in Tracy, Minn.  Her parents were farmers, and she was proud to work as one her entire life.  On Oct. 20, 1943, she married George E. Klein. They farmed dairy, cattle, hogs, corn, soybeans, prunes and trees.  If you drove by one of their farms you would frequently see her driving around on her tractor, and she also enjoyed driving the D8.  She was well known for her farm style cooking and kept their farm hands well fed. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, crafts, cookbooks, animals, and most of all her family.

She is survived by her son, Gary Klein (Kirsten) Chehalis, their daughters,  Jennifer (Trevor) Williams of Kirkland, Michelle (Derrick) McKay of Waltham, Mass., and Laura of Kirkland, her great-grandchildren, Dayton & Daphne McKay and Adelynn Williams. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Avis Robinson.

A Memorial Service for Ava will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2195 Jackson Highway, Chehalis.
