Martin Hans (Rasmussen) Pierce, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.

Martin graduated from Mariner High School in Everett in 1992 then attended and graduated from Universal Technical Institute in Arizona, where he received an advanced electronics degree. He was hired by Boeing, where he worked for over five years in the safety testing area. He then was employed for the next 13 years as a Senior Electronics Technician at Quil Ceda Creek Casino.

Martin lived his life to love people and the games they play, darts, pool, poker or trivia in leagues or in tournaments, World of War and computer games. Role playing games were a major reality in his life, with an ongoing Saturday night game. He also loved racing mini cars or trucks and was up for a competition of any form at any time, game on whether or not he expected to win. His Buffalo Bills were always contenders no matter what the score. Martin lived to take things that were broken and fix them, no matter if it was electronic, human or wildlife. He also loved to restore classic cars.

Drake, his Labrador Retriever was the joy of his life the last couple of years. He was also extremely talented at balancing musical systems and stereos. Anyone who knew him, knew that he was always available to help and that they were always welcome at his door. If he was able, anything he had was yours if he felt you could use it. The last dollar in his pocket or the beer in his refrigerator. His smile will be missed by so many.

Martin is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Gene and Ella Mae Rasmussen; aunt and uncle, John and Judy Johnson; and his very precious sister-in- law, Linda Pierce.

He is survived by his mother, Susan Sorg;  big brother, Andrew Pierce; and little sister, Charity Turner Sorg; uncle, Jack Rasmussen; cousins, Ron, Stan and David Johnson; Jeremy Rasmussen, the cousins families; and Tim Sorg.

There was a group around Martin that while not blood were family the “original four”. In addition to the other 112 not named here individually, for fear of missing someone and Martin would not approve of anyone being left out. You all know who you are and that Martin made sure you knew how important you were to him!
