Melody Dale Brannon

of Bremerton, Wash.

Dec. 1, 1950-Feb. 3, 2012

Melody Dale Brannon, 61, was taken from her family on Feb. 3, 2012 at her home in Bremerton, Wash. She is survived by her brother Randall Arthurs, brother and sister-in-law James and Linda Arthurs, nieces and nephews Elke Etcheberry, David and Rena Arthurs, Christine and Dan DeBow, Sarah and David Partain, John Henry, Michael Henry, many cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Nat Brannon and parents Thomas R. Arthurs and Frances J. (Robb) Arthurs.

Melody was born Dec. 1, 1950 in Seattle, Wash. She graduated from Ballard High School, attended business school in Seattle, and worked more than 20 years as an administrative assistant for DSHS in Seattle. She married Nat Brannon in 1979 and lived many happy years in Federal Way, Wash. Most recently she worked for the King Co. Election Board. In Nov. 2011, Melody sold her home in Federal Way and moved to her new home in Bremerton to be closer to family.

Melody loved antiques, old movies, her two cats Sierra and Isabella. She enjoyed meeting people, loved traveling, spending time with her family, genealogy, history and crossword puzzles. She never met any chocolate she didn't like, and she was known for her quirky sense of humor, her gentle spirit and huge capacity to love others as if they were part of her family. If her family was a Christmas tree, Melody would have been one of the brightest ornaments on it.

A celebration of life memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel, address 5303 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, WA 98312. A reception is immediately following at the Bremerton Elks Lodge. Per the family wishes, private interment will take place next to her husband at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family cover Melody's affairs can be made at Navy Federal Credit Union under the "Melody Brannon Memorial Fund".

Melody's family, friends, and community will greatly miss her. We believe she is safely held in Jesus' graceful and loving arms.
